Put simply S&D is freedom. Freedom from criticism, influence and commerce. A pure, unadulterated passion for design, photography and of course, surfing. S&D stands for ‘Steep and deep’. A line I yell at my mates when they’re paddling into a wave. No judges, no plan, no timeline or responsibilities, just a gut reaction to a beautiful watery gift from nature. I jumped into this project because I yearned for something truly different. To take a chance, make a mistake, learn, correct, grow and go again. The time also makes sense because surfing in my opinion feels a bit lost, like a sweaty teenage boy at their first dance. Overthinking every step and clumsily cutting the rug with all types of disco shapes. I’m no publishing baron, so it's anything but perfect, however I guarantee you every page is jam packed with an unadulterated, unfiltered stoke for the art of riding waves.
